Wearing high heel shoes over an inch high change the biomechanics of the feet and the lower limb. For this reason and the fact that there is not a lot of room in a high heel shoe, using a traditional orthotic will not work or usually fit properly.
One solution to be able provide a little support for heels higher than one inch is a product called All Day Heels which aim at re-distributing weight towards the heels. I find this most useful in female patients who suffer from pain in the front of the feet because the weight is being “pushed” forward due to height of the heel. For court shoes and heels that are under an inch high we use a slim fit orthotic which is very versatile and will fit into most shoe that don’t have a removable insole.
